Hong Kong Entry Requirements: Arrival/Departure Cards Abolished
As of October 16, 2024, travelers entering Hong Kong are no longer required to fill out paper or digital arrival/departure cards. The Hong Kong Immigration Department has abolished this requirement for all visitors and residents arriving via air, sea, or land.
Key Points Regarding Entry
- No Forms Required: You do not need to fill out any arrival cards or online declarations before arriving in Hong Kong.
- Arrival Process: Upon arrival, you will proceed directly to immigration counters with your passport.
- Landing Slip: Instead of a passport stamp, you will receive a small landing slip, which should be kept for the duration of your stay.
- Documentation: Ensure you have a valid passport and, if requested, proof of return or onward travel and accommodation details.
- E-Channels: Automated immigration clearance (e-Channels) is available for eligible travelers.
Important Note
Some sources mistakenly confuse Hong Kong entry requirements with mainland China, which has introduced a new digital arrival card for foreigners. Be sure you are following Hong Kong's requirements, not China's.
